The Centres for Health Research (CHR) presents this series of 30 minute info sessions designed to assist with the human ethical understanding for research studies via the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC).

Presenter: Mrs Florence Spurling
Mrs Spurling sits as a Category D Pastoral Care member on the Metro South HREC. Her background includes extensive experience in ABC feature-documentary production for Radio National which included scores of programs about health issues and ethical considerations in a medical setting, including palliative care. Additional Florence has been involved in some ground breaking work in the 1990’s and 2000’s about eating disorders; often working in remote and regional Australia with Aboriginal communities. Aside from her work with the Metro South HREC, Florence also continues as a weekly volunteer chaplain at St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital

SESSION 10 - January 2018 - Open Q & A
Presented on 31 January 2018 by staff of the Centre for Health Research. The session covered research ethics, governance and monitoring and gave practical tips on how to do ethics submissions and forms and went through other requirements. The audience Q and A helped to give handy insights and answers into the issues and challenges around submissions and ways to complete the process effectively.
