Professor Ian Frazer - UQDI
Prof Ian Frazer is a clinician scientist with a research focus over 35 years on the role of viruses as possible targets for prevention of, and immunotherapy for, cancer. He currently heads a group of postdoctoral research fellows and graduate students within the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute. He has at various times been on the editorial board of a number of journals - currently Virology. He was recently appointed as Editor in Chief of a new Cell Press journal - ”Innovation” - focussed on publishing innovative and internationally collaborative interdisciplinary research.
Dr Adam Ewing – Mater Research
Dr Adam Ewing leads the Translational Bioinformatics Group at Mater Research and is an Associate Editor at the journal "Mobile DNA". The Associate Editor role includes selection and assignment of reviewers, assessment of manuscripts in light of peer review, and editorial decision-making.

Professor Vicki Clifton – Mater Research
Professor Vicki Clifton is a National Health and Medical Research Council Senior Research Fellow (2018-22) who is currently the Program leader of Mothers and Babies Theme at Mater Research Institute in Brisbane Australia and Co Lead of the Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners Mothers and Babies Theme. She was competitively appointed as the first female Editor of the Placenta Journal (2012-2018) and is a member of Trophoblast Research Editorial Board (2012-present). The Placenta Journal is published by Elsevier, is a Green access journal, it is the official journal of the International Federation of Placental Associations, has an impact factor of 3.18 and is a quartile one journal in the field.
Professor Gabrielle Belz – UQDI
Gabrielle Belz originally trained in Veterinary medicine and surgery and received her PhD from the University of Queensland. She is the Chair of Immunology, UQDI and a Senior Principal NHMRC Research Fellow and focuses on deciphering the key cellular, transcriptional and epigenetic signals used by innate and adaptive immune cells that drive protection against infections.
She has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Immunology and Cell Biology, the flagship journal of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology, and the journal prolifically published in by Burnett. She started the sister journal Clinical and Translational Immunology and now serves as a Deputy Editor. She is also an Editor for the Frontiers journals – Immunological Memory, Innate Immunity; Guest Editor of several journals including Annual Reviews in Immunology; and is currently a Deputy Editor for Journal of Immunology, the flagship journal for the American Association of Immunology.
