Sexual harassment awareness and prevention week
TRI and our partners are hosting a spotlight on Sexual Harassment and Prevention Week from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd of October 2021 to raise awareness about sexual violence and promote the support available for people affected by sexual misconduct.
The program will include:
- Monday 18 October 2021: Keynote Seminar #1 broadcasted live in the TRI Auditorium from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with guest speaker Emeritus Professor Marcia Devlin. Marcia is an internationally recognised expert in equity, quality, leadership, teaching and learning, student engagement and digital education. She will be delivering a one-hour presentation on how to build and maintain a respectful workplace. The Session will be followed by afternoon tea in the Atrium for in-person attendance.
- Thursday 21 October 2021: Ethical Bystander Training in Room 2007 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with UQ's Senior Counsellor Kim Fletcher. Ethical bystanders play an essential role in keeping us safe and help build a culture of respect and zero-tolerance to violence. This one-hour training will guide participants through specific scenarios in which you will explore strategies that everyday people can use to speak up and take action to make a positive difference.
- Friday 22 October 2021: Keynote Seminar #2 in the TRI Auditorium from 9:30am to 11:00am with guest speaker Shirralee Ransley, starting with morning tea in the Atrium at 9:00am. Shirralee is the Director of SAFE Consulting. She will be delivering a presentation on how to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
