First Responder Training
To continue to provide a safe and supportive workplace, TRI is offering First Responder Training. This training is open to all staff and students at TRI and aims to empower individuals to be a point of contact and source of information and referral for individuals who have experienced sexual harassment or assault. First Responders are not counsellors, but they will be equipped with the skills and knowledge required to refer people to further support and resources.
The training will enable participants to develop an understanding of TRI and their partners' approach to prevention and management of disclosures of sexual misconduct. It will also provide appropriate support options available to those affected by sexual misconduct. The session will be facilitated by UQ’s Respect Team, Jackie Fuller and Franc Hayes.
After completing this course, participants may be invited to join TRI’s First Responder Network - a team of identified staff and other members of the TRI community specifically trained to provide information and guidance to people who have experienced sexual misconduct.
