"Know thyself": how events in thymus prevent or presestine autoimmune disease
Presented by Dr Stephen Daley, Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute.
Stephen Daley is a Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader at Monash University, Melbourne. His lab studies the normal mechanisms of T cell selection in the thymus and how they break down in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disease. Collaborating with clinicians, bioinformaticians and other immunologists, they have defined checkpoints that punctuate normal T cell development and identified T cell biomarkers that may be used to diagnose and classify defects in thymus function.
