BRF Update - AUGUST 2019

We’re seeing projects ramp up as usual in the second half of the year, please read on for some important updates:

JAX webinar – how to size experimental mouse colonies

We will be running this webinar tomorrow 9th August (calendar invite attached) at 2pm in room 4000. This webinar is strongly recommended for anyone managing animal colony numbers – please come along if you have time or we can send you a link to watch in your spare time.

Online training

Thank you to everyone who has completed the online training and given us feedback which we have used to update the course content. For all users who have not completed this, the course content will be refreshed to ensure the latest versions are provided and a message will be sent through advising that card access to the TRI BRF will be revoked for anyone who has not completed the training one month after the notification. If you need more time or have access issues for any reason please let us know and we will be happy to assist/work out specific arrangements as required.

UQBR order form

Please see email attached on changes to the process for ordering animals through UQBR.

Historical faecal samples

A number of faecal samples have been found in a -20 freezer in the breeding wing, presumably collected for health testing, from a number of different colonies. Some of these samples are from years ago, as early as 2014. If anyone would like these samples (e.g. for assessment of the microbiome) please let us know by the end of August, otherwise they will be discarded.

As always please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries or concerns.
