BRF Update Oct 2020
We have a number of important updates for this month as the end of the year fast approaches:
New database (Mosaic) training and access
UQBR have now created online training modules on the basics of accessing, navigating records and updating genotypes for the purposes of colony management on Mosaic. Everyone’s TRI BRF online induction on TalentLMS has been updated so that the Mosaic module now provides the relevant steps and links to access and complete this training. For your convenience, I have also attached these instructions. Those who have already completed an in-person or Zoom session has been marked as completed for this module.
Please note that as of 12th Oct we will no longer be providing colony management excel reports as this information should be available to all researchers who have completed the training now, via Mosaic. If you are having issues accessing or completing the training please let us know.
We are continuing to work on refining and troubleshooting a number of features and we look forward to providing you will further updates on features for researchers in the near future.
Procedure room bookings
It has been reported that there are a number of bookings on PPMS that are not being utilised (e.g. old recurring bookings that people have forgotten to cancel), making it hard for users to book these spaces. If you have any room bookings on PPMS that you no longer need please ensure that you do cancel these. The BRF will also be conducting audits of bookings and contacting users if they are not using their bookings. We will be updating the capacity of some spaces shortly based on social distancing maximum capacities, but will be keeping the limit of one booking per procedure room for the time being.
End of year shutdown
The exact dates are yet to be confirmed for each service, but the BRF will be shutting down services over 2-3 weeks at the end of the year, typically this has included:
- Technical and training services
- Animal shipments, deliveries and internal transfers
- Colony management services
Please plan your experiments accordingly and let us know if you have any queries at all.
Staff leave
We are continuing to support a number of our team on leave so please bear with us as we will continue to experience delays with some enquiries and projects. In particular:
