Brisbane Open House 2019
TRI BASED VOLUNTEER CALL-OUT
We are looking for researchers to accompany the tours to help visitors understand the functional use of the TRI Building and to get a taste of what kind of research happens here. It's a great opporutnity to talk about your research to the general public.
During the tours, we will stop off on your floor, outside your lab, where you will be given the opportunity to speak about your research to the group of approximately 20 people.
Please email the TRI Communications and Marketing team if you'd like to be involved. Staff who volunteer are welcome to sign up to take part in one or multiple tours.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
TRI is proud to be participating in Brisbane Open House for the 7th year in a row. Architectural and research focussed tours will take place on Saturday 12 October. Tours will be run every hour on the hour starting at 10am, with the final tour leaving at 3pm. Tours start at the TRI reception located on level 2 (look for the BOH signage). Each tour will be guided by one of the building's architects and a medical researcher based at the TRI.
Tours are capped at 20 people per tour. Guests will need to sign up for their tour upon arrival, which will be run on a first here-first served basis. Each tour length can vary, usually going from half an hour, to fourty-five minutes.
In 2018 over 200 visitors came to take a look at our unique building and to find out more about the work being conducted in the building.
