Alison Stopeck, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, Arizona. She is the director of the Clinical Breast Cancer Program at the University of Arizona Cancer Center as well as the Director of the Arizona Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Stopeck completed her medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. She remained at Columbia for a residency in internal medicine and then completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Cornell University Medical College.

Dr. Stopeck has been an invited lecturer at numerous national and international meetings and has authored or co-authored over 100 book chapters, refereed journal articles, abstracts, and editorials. She is an associate editor for the American Journal of Medicine and ad hoc journal reviewer for numerous journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, and Cancer. She has been named to Best Doctors in Tucson as well as Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Stopeck is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Her research interests include anti-angiogenic agents and novel predictors of antitumor therapies or chemopreventive agents.
