2018 Translational Research Symposium Wrap-up

The 2018 Translational Research Symposium was a huge success with over 300 attendees participating across the day. 

The event began with an insightful discussion panel with six guest speakers giving advice on how to progress your career successfully- some key take-aways included: 

• find yourself a mentor,
• attitude is key,
• and don't view failure as failure. 

A record 121 posters were presented on the day and were of an extremely high standard as were the 12 oral presentations. 

The keynotes Dr David Loch and Dr Nikki Sims-Chilton demonstrated that a PhD really can lead you anywhere such as into patent law in David's case and science engagement within the public sector in Nikkis. 

Exhibitors also had a full day with 17 of them spread across the venue, special thanks to Platinum sponsor Mimotopes for sponsoring the sought after coffee machine. 

Over $3500 in prize money was awarded at the end of the day- congratulations to all of the winners.
