2023 GAME CHANGER SERIES SEMINAR #1
Join us for the first instalment of the TRI Game Changer Seminar Series for 2023 where Brisbane’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Krista Adams, will speak on the topic of ‘Brisbane 2032: Alive with Opportunity’.
Councillor Adams is Civic Cabinet Chair for Economic Development and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Brisbane is on a journey of unprecedented transformation as we prepare to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Australia’s fastest growing capital, and a city with global aspirations, Brisbane’s next decade will be the most important in our history. Our sustained economic growth, incredible lifestyle offerings, globally renowned research and education institutions, and strong pipeline of major city-shaping infrastructure, are powering a positive outlook.
Come along and hear from Councillor Adams on what Brisbane will look like in 10 years’ time and 10 years beyond that, and how can we ensure that the incredible opportunities presented by the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games deliver lasting legacy benefits and an even better Brisbane for generations to come. Councillor Adams will also talk about the changing Brisbane transport scene, the development of precincts such as Boggo Road and the work being done in attracting and retaining the MedTech industry to Brisbane.
MedTech Global Accelerator Program
Following Councillor Adams's session, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency will showcase the city's MedTech Accelerator Program which has returned for FY2024. You’ll learn more about the expert-led program which will help 10 local companies connect with global partners for capital, product collaboration, and licensing distribution, with an opportunity to pitch to investors at JP Morgan Health Week in San Francisco in January 2024. Each module includes real-world exercises, and toolkits to help participants develop their global fund-raising campaign, with guidance from world-leading MedTech giants such as Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic and mentorship and advice from local industry, institutes, and government. You’ll also hear from an accelerator participant Microbio about the advantages, opportunities, and connections the program delivered for them.
