My Translation Rules - Nutrition and Dietetics Research Translation Award 2017

The annual “My Translation Rules” Nutrition and Dietetics Research Translation Award is a showcase and celebration of research translation in clinical dietetic practice. This event encourages clinical Dietitians to critique existing research and translate findings into a clinical application within an Australian healthcare sector.

This event is open to all Queensland Health and Mater dietitians across the state as well as Nutrition & Dietetic university staff and final year dietetic students.

Dr Ingrid Hickman commenced MTR at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2014. MTR grew over the last three years to include collaborations with Dr Shelley Wilkinson and the Mater Group, and then Dr Adrienne Young and RBWH. The Research Fellows have provided expert support in their local facilities to date, as well as developing and implementing the four MTR webinars. They are committed to expanding this initiative across the state.

This year, the Award is open to Dietetic departments across Metro South HHS, Metro North HHS and Mater Group. Each entrant must demonstrate their research translation process through a five minute presentation.

From 2018, the MTR Award will be open to all dietitians in Queensland Health and Mater Group facilities should any site wish to engage. Attending this event either in person, or via videoconference will be a wonderful taster if you are interested in research translation in clinical dietetic practice. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the MTR team: [email protected]
