Highly Cited Researchers list 2018
Recognising exceptional research contributions from world-class researchers
Clarivate Analytics have released the 2018 Highly Cited Researchers list, which recognises world-class researchers selected for their exceptional research performance, demonstrated by production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science.
Congratulations to Professor Phil Hugenholtz, Co-Founder of Microba and School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences, UQ and Professor Dietmar Hutmacher, Chair in Regenerative Medicine, Science and Engineering Faculty, QUT and IHBI Member, who are included on the list for 2018.
The Highly Cited Researchers represent more than 60 regions, but 82.7% of them are from just 10 and 70.2% from the first five, a remarkable concentration of top talent. Overall, Australia was the third strongest performer, exhibiting growth of 112.5%, from 80 researchers named in 2014 to 170 in the ESI fields in 2018.
Australian researchers ranked in fifth place, being preceded by the United States, United Kingdom, China and Germany.
