TRI Chair Dr David Watson announced Professor Ian Frazer AC will be the ambassador for a new fund raising Board for TRI at the conclusion of his three-year tenure as CEO on 30 June 2014.

Dr Watson said, “Prof Frazer has done an outstanding job as the inaugural CEO of TRI. We were very fortunate that he agreed to put to one side his research activities to help establish TRI as a world-class medical research facility that delivers direct economic benefit back to Queensland.”

Professor Frazer said, “Now that TRI is established as a major new clinical and translational research institution, our priority is to secure long term funding of medical research by TRI’s collective group of researchers from its four shareholder institutions. In order to attract and retain outstanding young medical researchers it is crucial to provide a stable platform of research funding to support their work.”
